What Is Line Boring?

Pivot wear in machinery can be a time consuming and regular problem in the ground engaging industry, traditionally to increase the diameter of a bore you would need to use expensive line boring machines that can be quick and easy, at a price.

Repairing a hole in a lug is just that. Wear and tear is an everyday part of the industry and repaired holes can soon become oval, effecting both the efficiency and more importantly the safety and stability of a machine.

New technology has been developed that allows this problem to be prevented or solved permanently. This is excellent news for anyone with equipment on construction machinery or offshore oil drilling.

Up until now expensive portable line boring machines were the most efficient industry device, which despite being more productive then their predecessors still required set up and dismantling time, disrupting productivity.

Using a tapered axel, expansion sleeves and pressure washers with a fastening element eliminates the movement in the pivot lugs. This in turn means no stress or pressure on the holes resulting in no wear on the holes and no need for expensive, time consuming and temporary line boring processes.

The way these systems have been designed allows for complete adaptability so they can be custom made for use in anything from construction machinery to safety bolts on high speed transport such as planes and trains.
